The best movie I've ever seen

 Hello everyone,

to be honest I wasn´t very sure about what to write, movies or books, personally now I like to watch series in Netflix, but when the pandemic wasn´t chasing us, I used to go a lot to the cinema. I would say I don´t have a favorite cinema genre, I am very open at the moment of choosing a movie, but I was very surprised of myself when I realise that Lilo & Stitch was a movie that could move me.

When I was little, I didn´t had the opportunity to have cable television, and because of that after school I never could watch Disney Channel as many of my classmates could. So I grew up without this Disney/Pixar influence as much as other kids, even tho I went to the cinema very often, and those were the moments where I would catch up with the latest movies of Disney.

And for this reason I didn´t watch Lilo & Stitch until a few days ago, when a friend told me to see it on Netflix. I laughed at first because I thought it was a child´s movie, even tho I still think it is, I have a more profound opinion about it. The first thing that I noticed was Lilo´s personality.

She is a very funny girl, with very particular tastes and likes to have company of friends, even if they are not very nice to her. I know that most of you who Will read this blog already saw the movie, so I Will Focus on the details of it.

About Lilo´s tastes, she likes to takes pictures of fat tourist on her island, you can notice that on the scene when se fought with her sister Nani and they are apologizing to each other in Lilo´s room. She has a Collection of the photos she took in her wall.

Another detail, is the constant reference to Elvis  Presley´s life and music, Lilo is a Big fan of Elvis, and once Stitch came to her Life, she tried to teach him to be a better citizen compared to Elvis. This is shown when Lilo makes a drawing of Stitch badness, also when Stitch is dressed as Elvis on the beach, or when he plays "Suspicious Minds" from his mouth while he touches a vinyl disc.

In other hand, I cannot Forget to talk about Stitch. He is fundamental in the movie because he approaches the alien world into Lilo´s Island, and goes through a process of self understandig and personality changing. He first appear as an evil alien that likes to destroy Big cities and make chaos, but ends up being a extra gentle being who doesn´t like to be alone, and wants to be part of Lilo´s Ohana.

To finish, I would like to comment about dialogues that are very funny in the movie, but I am not so sure if they are the same without the Latin-Spanish dubbing. Some of the dialogues are very unique, but I think that the most touching is when Nani was fire from her work because of Stitch and Lilo ask her the reason for her dismissal and she answered "my boss is a vampire and he wanted me to join his legion of horror" and Lilo replied "I thought so". I think this proves the love inside Lilo´s family, the love that turned Stitch into someone better.

So, despite being a children's film, I think it delivers a lot of lessons, emotional moments that I personally found phenomenal.

Thank you very much!

  2. haha I love her and her love for Elvis (that makes the soundtrack very good).
Even if it's a "children's film", a good movie is always a good movie.
