Hello there! This intensive course it's finally coming to an end, so this is the last post. It has been very challenging but also really interesting. Despite I had to wake up at 8 a.m every day during my vacations (although it was only for a month) I actually had fun practicing english, learning new things and also sharing with people from other careers, each one of them related to arts! This is my first experience learning English at the university. The last time I had English before this course it was almost 4 years ago when I was at school. I realized my English was very rusty since the last time I practiced. I really appreciate the opportunity given to do this course in vacations and only for 1 month and not in 1 complete semester, it made me feel less stressed during this last semester and I'm really thankful about it. Using blogs for this English course has also been a lot of fun too. I'm very shy with my speaking so I feel a little bit more comfortable writing. This...

Postgraduate studies

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well, in this post I'm really  not sure about an answer for this topic because I don't know if I'm going to be able to finish my career first. And even after that I would have to work to make a living, and I dont think I'm smart enough to study more than a career. But leaving excuses apart, I would love to continue studying if I'm not too old when I finish this career. Maybe because I'm interested in a lot of areas I would love to improve and master my knowledge so I can share it with other people, or maybe because I would like to have a plan B in case I don't succeed in music, but I would say it's both of them. Some universities in Chile allow you to study 2 careers at the same time. If I let my imagination grow for a little while I would definitely take that chance (I can barely keep up with this career and I'm already planning to study 2 at the same time after I graduate 🤣). I would love to be a teacher. If I coul...

My future job

Image
In my ideal future I’m sure that any job related to sound or music would make me happy, I really love this area so it's hard to imagine myself doing something else. Since I was 14 years old I've been through many jobs and with all due respect to the people I've worked with and to the people who does this kind of work,  I'm not sure if I'd like in the future being buried alive inside an office or  in a customer service, being exploited and working extra hours every day 5 days a week every year for the next 40 years of my life. I believe that's the reason why my mother always told me to study a career that would never make me worry about that. I just finished my second year of sound engineering (although I delayed one year in 2020) at college but I feel like I'm just starting to learn what's really the useful knowledge of the career, even though I think they teach you a lot of stuff because it offers you a truly wide area of jobs, investigations and creati...

The best movie I've ever seen

Image
Hello everyone,  to be honest I wasn´t very sure about what to write, movies or books, personally now I like to watch series in Netflix, but when the pandemic wasn´t chasing us, I used to go a lot to the cinema. I would say I don´t have a favorite cinema genre, I am very open at the moment of choosing a movie, but I was very surprised of myself when I realise that Lilo & Stitch was a movie that could move me.  When I was little, I didn´t had the opportunity to have cable television, and because of that after school I never could watch Disney Channel as many of my classmates could. So I grew up without this Disney/Pixar influence as much as other kids, even tho I went to the cinema very often, and those were the moments where I would catch up with the latest movies of Disney.  And for this reason I didn´t watch Lilo & Stitch until a few days ago, when a friend told me to see it on Netflix. I laughed at first because I thought it was a child´s movie, even tho ...

A photograph I like

I love pictures! You can capture so many special moments. It's like you can somehow go back to the places you once belonged, or maybe it's just me getting nostalgic.  I'm not sure if I would be able to pic just 1 picture as my favorite, but I think these pictures are for sure the ones that  bring me more peace. When I was a kid, I was raised by my grandma and my mother in Colina (Santiago). Yayita was a pretty old lady with blue eyes and a big smile across her face full of wrinkles. She was very funny and she loved to cook, to weave and to look after her plants and trees.  I had to walk everyday about 40 minutes from school  to home so I could check her and to have some tea. When I was in my last year of school,  we didn't have to stay after lunch so we could leave by 1.00 p.m., so one day (September, 2018) I was just getting to my house gate when I saw her sitting in a bank in the porch looking to the garden. I went to give her a hug and a kiss, and then I...

An old trip

One of my last vacations before pandemic was in January, for the summer of 2020. My friend and college mate in that days, Héctor, invited me over his house days after new year's eve in his native land, Chiloé. His family spent the holidays here in Santiago and then they would return to Chiloé by car. We took the chance and carried our bikes with his family as they were driving a SUV. The trip was really nice,  I think I never travelled south that far by car and I was really amazed by the landscapes, it was a really long trip though.    We spent like 1 week in Chiloé, staying over his mother's house and his grandma's place. Kind of hard being a vegan on an island where livestock has been the main income for many families  over the years and they have lots of traditions and typical meals, but I made it through pretty well.  I met really nice places,  my jaw dropped every 3 minutes because of the view. Also the weather was really pleasant for the time be...

Which country I would like to visit

Bariloche  Hi everyone in this post i'm gonna write about where I'd like to travel, work and study.   For my case, I would love to go to Argentina, the main reason is that I've never been out of Chile, therefore I never had a passport either.   Now that I'm over 21 I can get my passport and travel along the world, so I would like to start with Argentina.   Not just because it's next to Chile, I think they have a really interesting culture, also a lot of old buildings with really great architecture, and big cities.      My interest for this country started when I was younger and I was hugely influenced by Argentinian musicians like Charl...
